Food Safety Mobile
Community Outreach
General Audience
Audience:
Consumers, community events, education partners, disaster relief areas
Challenge:
To provide attention-grabbing, hands-on information about proper food handling to prevent foodborne illness in communities and at events throughout the country
The JMH Solution:
JMH developed an evocative theme - "Food Safety Across the USA" - and created larger-than-life graphics to completely encase a 36-foot Winnebago with engaging food safety messages. JMH also developed a colorful Media Kit to help communities prepare for the arrival of the Food Safety Mobile. The Mobile travels to events nationwide, distributing education materials and providing grilling and other hands-on demonstrations. When the Food Safety Mobile comes to town - you can't help but stop and take notice! In early Fall of 2005, the Food Safety Mobile began an on-site relief initiative in the Gulf Coast. Navigating the damaged highway system, the Food Safety Mobile relocated to Louisiana to provide critical on-site food safety assistance to families affected by Hurricane Katrina, including those who were returning to damaged homes/kitchens and those who were managing their lives in displaced areas without proper facilities
