R.B.'s Activity Book

Health Education Program
1st - 3rd Grades

Audience:

Children grades 1 through 3 and their parents/caregivers

Challenge:

To make health-related topics fun for children and informative for parents, and to foster interaction between parents/caregivers and their children in pediatric offices and at home

The JMH Solution:

JMH developed R.B.'s Activity Book, featuring mascot R.B. and his dog Scrubs. The book engages children and families in basic health behaviors that can help lead to "healthy homes." Fun puzzles and activities introduce four health and safety topics: oral hygiene, hand hygiene, healthy eating/exercise, and safety. "For the Family" messages are also included. The 32-page book is used first in the pediatric waiting room, then taken home for extended play-and-learn opportunities. A complementary Waiting Room Poster invites young patients to request the book.
