Discovering the Science of Alcohol
Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program
High School
Audience:
High school biology students
Challenge:
To develop an education program that brings a new dimension to alcohol abuse and prevention strategies - a "teaching, not preaching" approach delivered through science classes
The JMH Solution:
JMH developed a comprehensive, biology-based classroom curriculum that draws on teenagers' curiosity about alcohol and leads them on a path of discovery. Utilizing interactive online and hands-on classroom explorations, the program engages students while providing access to cutting-edge science. Discovering the Science of Alcohol meets National Science Educational Standards and ventures "beyond the textbook" to explore the science of alcohol while examining issues critical to teens. The program's structure makes it easy for teachers to incorporate alcohol education into the existing biology curriculum and empowers students to make educated decisions based on their learning.
